Trust me I do understand your frustrations about this...but I think you are missing my point...the point is that it is not necessary to have these Vanity items to be competetive...its just like 15k or FoW armor....its about vanity...so you have to decide whether or not you want to have this item...if you do then you need to make certain sacrifices....if you only have one pvp slot then you need to purchase an additional slot or sacrifice a pve slot...same as it is with PVE players...if they want to have a pvp slot they either need to sacrifice a pve toon or buy another slot if they don't have an extra one. All that has happened here is a reversal of the PvP vs PvE arguement about vanity items...for a long time most pvp players have said to pve players to suck it up...you don't need 15k armor..you can have collectors...and now the opposite is true...pve players are telling pvp players to suck it up...you don't need special skins you can use the standard skins...I really am not flaming or anything...as i said before I am a casual player of both pvp and pve....i am not exceptional or elite at either one..and i don't want to be...but i can understand that vanity items are called vanity items for a reason...I have 15k armor on 3 pve players...and on my warrior pvp player i will probably unlock a few things..(waiting for pics and such) but i use 2 slots for pvp...my warrior never gets rerolled i have certain weapons on him that i have bought/gained thru pve and don't want to lose...but i still have my other slot to roll into whatever i want or am needed to roll into.

Lol smart move of A-Net making existing armors inscribable *thinks of the chaos being unleashed by all FoW owners being kicked in the balls if they did NOT make in inscribable*
Well that was done good. But of course, with every rather large update comes a farm nerf. And this time it was the Vampire killing
The only bug involved with the vampires, was the FARM-LOCK. Yes, the farm lock. After a few vamp runs, loot went down to 0. Instead of fixing the problem, they just nerfed the entire thing - as always.
Didn't Vampires ALWAYS drop loot? Didn't they always give EXP as well (low-level people would still get EXP)? And there was never EVER a nerf. Heck, one could even farm them before Hard Mode came out (just crappy drops). But now that one can make decent cash out of it, it gets nerfed. Just like Griffons, Trolls etc.
Except now they can't hide behind the bots.
Well, not angry. I didn't really farm them anyway, but now nobody can get Zodiac weaps exept for rich people. Anyone remember the 'We want to make rare-skinned weapons available to everyone.'?

Oh FFS! >_<;
BAD A-Net! Infinitely bad A-Net!!
It was INSCRIPTIONS on WEAPONS that needed to be added to all campaigns; not INSIGNIAS on ARMOUR! ...
Aside from the one upside that Prophecies armour can now have whatever bonus you like..... folks seem to be missing the key downside of all this:
Radiant Insignia.
The price is going to sky-rocket even more.
Trying to get Energy armour is going to become completely unfeasible...
Whereas before we could just get a set of the necessary armour from Factions for most classes..... now that will no longer be an option and we'll just have to shell out the absolutely inordinate amounts of cash required to get the Radiant Insignias.... meaning the price will rocket up until every one costs around 5k or more ... adding an extra 25k cost at least on to any suit of energy armour.... [Thank fvck my Monk already has her 55hp armour, and my Necro has two sets for some stupid reason.]
This is a total and utter nightmare...
Plus the Urgoz nerf.
While it was the most over-easy farm imaginable.... not making things drop from the hoppers and stealers is a step too far. Just toning down their level in Hard Mode would have done the job.... keeping it as it is in Normal Mode... That way they could still be farmed for the collector items and maybe for Dye....
This way... getting Vampire Fangs is all but impossible....
... Well... Would a "Can't Touch This" paragon be able to do it?

1. If they were going to take the time and effort to implement a pvp rewards system ... why not make it usable???
OR
2. Spend the development time on something else that IS usable (when WAS the last skill balance anyway???)
I don't understand why they would voluntarily spend time and effort (read: money) on something that is useless to the community at large....

Agree with that part. Why Anet focus on weird stuff is beyond me. HvH anyone? >.>
I would prefer skill balances to that rewards update actually. But, dun't give me the crap that this update causes the loss of flexibility of PvP chars...coz it's a complete BS.

I don't think that they'd add inscribable weapons yet. That would make the economy more $@*%ed up than it already is. Not to mention it would piss off a lot of people.

You realize that this isn't in the update release notes; therefore an unintended change otherwise known as 'bug'
You can be annoyed by it, hate it even. I'd suggest you consider your bloodpressure first. it'll be corrected soon...

You mean the ones who would go "OhNoez! I can't sell my weapon for 100k + Million Ectos any moar!"... hmm?
I'm getting no reading on the Careometer... nothing at all.
Inscriptions on weapons would lower weapon prices and effectively bring in more customers as a result.... closing the gap between the incredibly rich and the incredibly poor.
Insignias on armour on the other hand is just going to make it stupidly expensive to get the insignias you want for armour-sets... make the whole process unfeasible to anyone without the ridiculous amounts of cash necessary to get five Radiant Insignias (just one example)... and further wedge open the monetary divide.
It isn't technically the addition of insignia armour that I object to so much as the removal of armour sets with existing bonuses at fixed prices. Unless something can be done to fix the prices of insignias.... this can spell only doom.

Good job Anet. I'll go into what I liked, and what I don't know enough about.
1) Armor. Awesome. People who had FoW before the insignia set was added are not screwed anymore. People who own 15k Grotto armor, 15k Luxon, etc. now have more options.
2) Urgoz. Good idea to nerf it, but poorly done. I used it, it was helping my Monk get Wisdom title points. I expected the nerf to be done, as the run was so easy, a blind, deaf, mute, drunk monkey sleeping with its hands tied behind its back could do it while eating Frosted Flakes with no spoon. I expected the monsters to no longer target spirits, not give no xp or loot. As mentioned, even a level change could have been effective.
3) /help. Haven't used it yet, but am aware of it. A very nice feature, and one that will be a great help for new players. I just hope the 'official' wiki gets as good as the 'unofficial' one is.
4) PvP rewards. I don't do much PvP, and am not sure how the reward setup works. From what I have read, it does sound mostly useless. As the ability to get these skins in PvE is not 'easy', I don't think it should be 'easy' for PvP folks either. However, making it last for people who delete and recreate characters would be nice. I would expect this to require HUGE amounts of the points, or a mix of faction and reward points, but make it last for those who get them, but recreate characters.
5) TRADE!!!! I am happy with most of the farming changes. Loot scaling originally sucked, but has now been made worthwhile. Lockpicks are great as well. However, Anet has stated they want people to find rare items, and sell them to other players - not sell large amounts of junk to the merchant. However, there is no (none, zilch, nada, zero- I could continue) method available to make these trades they want to happen. Spamming WTS is long, boring, and unproductive, and even if you have an item and price someone would want and pay - they will be in a different city, on a different server, or in a different time zone. If weapon inscriptions are planned for an update, it had better be AFTER a trade system is added. The [P]arty option is anice start, but it hardly makes a difference. Not many use it, and it still limits who can see what you are selling. I have 1 character simply for storage. I have another with nothing but items to sell. I have sold 5 items since Hard Mode was added, yet have a character maxed out, and 1 box of storage filled, and other characters with 2-3 items. We need a way to find the people who will buy our stuff. When I log onto the game, I want to play. I do not want to sit in Lions Arch trying to sell stuff for 4 hours to find 1 person who buys 1 item.
GIVE US A TRADE SYSTEM! WE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR IT FOR A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG TIME!!!!!!!!!!

Why should it take a HUGE amount of points (Read: TIME) for PvP players to unlock armour? The logical solution would be the armour costing an amount of points corresponding equally to the time it takes for PvE players to get the set of armour.

For the Urgoz exploit. To fix it, maybe they can have the vampires go after anything in the area, not just the spirits. And not give up so easily once they started after you. Be a little smarter about what they suicide up against? Since you are not killing them, you shouldn't get the experience obviously (unlike traps where you are killing, so bad analogy someone had on an earlier post). But having them drop nothing isn't the answer either. Maybe limit the drops to the fangs, so the collector isn't worthless in House.
Just a few thoughts.

Great update!
To those griping about radiant prices: if having +energy armor is *that* important to you, you should already have a set from factions/proph. If you simply *must* have radiant on a prettier armor, salvage your old armor. Sheesh. I'm sure the insignia prices will settle down in a week or two as all the Ettin farming kicks in.

You're totally right...
know what's even funnier? everyone's been hoarding radiant 'cause they're expensive; all that does is keep 'em expensive... c'mon people start dumping your radiant insignias, price will fall. Alternatively, don't dump the radiants, prices will fall and you get the bonus of bitching about your now worthless radiant insignias! everybody's a winner!

This is total crap.
Why nerf something that was fine already?
Now I have to go out and re-buy every single mask for every single one of my characters. About 30k completely down the drain for this unessessary nerf.

Wow.
The way in which skins are added to the game for pvp?
HORRIBLE.
How the hell do they expect people to ever buy 50 armor sets of 20 reward points a piece on a single character?
That's all I want to say.

I love the fact that people are using Anet's arguement of "give the masses the best stuff" to complain about the Urgoz farming nerf and how they can't farm zodiacs/greens....Do you see that a flood of zodiac/greens weapons on the market results in their price going down?? It happened to colossal scimitar, almost all golds and is close to happening to the elemental sword....something needs to be 1337, otherwise everyone is boring....
In terms of the Radiant Insigs, realize that ALL armor pieces across all three campaigns drop insignias now, so just imagine how many radiants will come on the market now.

The proper thing they should have done with existing armors was to leave the armors with the corresponding Insignias, BUT not make the insignias salvageable (but you can still replace it with a new insignia).
